Welcome to the UK

9 September 2008 – 8:46 pm

On arriving this week at London City Airport, a friendly DLR ticket inspector was there to catch people (probably foreign) who they had managed to trick in to boarding a train with no ticket. It is very easy at this station. Don’t you just love the way foreigners, and likely business people at that, are welcomed to the UK. One hour later when leaving a mainline train, yet more inspectors were to be found on the platform.

If you still fancy leaving the car and paying their salaries, take the train. This advert spotted on the Tube is far from original. InterCity under the former British Rail were already using a similar slogan when I was a child. Something along the lines of (pun), who has ever heard of a trainjam! Strikingly similar.
