So the British Grand Prix has come and gone. Pirelli got a hard time on the tyre front. Bernie’s move to level the field between the top flight and bottom rung teams is proving exciting, coupled with a handful of world class drivers is providing a lot of interest in the 2013 Formula 1 season. The circus grows and grows, with the addition of new nations and drivers from a broader global pool. Alongside football, F1 is a truly global sport.

Having spent a day at Silverstone over the weekend, the sponsors were out in force. Again, how can this huge spend be measured? In reality impossible, but the stickability of sponsors such as Santander and Petronas, indicate at some level they feel they are getting value from this popular minority sport.
