A Wrap For Four

13 September 2012 – 8:05 am

Located on a quiet London side street in a Richard Rogers metal and glass structure, Channel 4, has always looked to be different. Commercial, but with a public broadcasting remit, the channel has had mixed fortunes over the past two and a half decades. The proliferation of new channels and runaway successes such as Rupert Murdoch’s Sky, have given the broadcaster a run for its share of available ad revenue. However, smart moves, such as buying up rights to the recent Paralympic Games in London, and good online investments, have seen the channel make headway in a tough commercial environment suffering from an over supply of general media.

The organisation’s creative streak is seen here, with the outdoor sculpture at HQ changing frequently and reflecting the channels’ activities. This colourful metal design celebrates the just ‘wrapped’ London 2012 Paralympic Games.
