Lotus - III

… a Lotus Evora. You will not be the first to have missed this attractive offering from Lotus. The Evora is a road car with a strong track influence. Using basic technology its performance is up there in supercar league. A mechanical stick based gearshift gives the car an old style racer feel and shouts Lotus. The 3.5 litre V6 comes from the Lexus. The product is good, but needs more marketing. The Lotus product range has excelled under the wing of Proton, who have been major stakeholders in the company since the mid-1990s.

  2. The Evora looked when it appeard on the American Top Gear. The Evora was part of a race from Miami to Key West. The hosts of the show competed by automobile, sea plane and speed boat. In typical Top Gear fashion theere were loads of Miami Vice recreations but in the end the Evora won by a few seconds.

I hope that the Evora’s appearance means that Lotus is trying to raise there visisbility the old fashined way and not just relying on word of mouth.

Wishing for some wheel time in an Evora, Michael

PS I was surprised to find a local mechanic telling me all aboute his Elise. His garage is exactly the kind of place where you would expect an obsession with all things NASCAR and drag racing.

  3. You should see the Police version Michael! On loan to the Central Motorways Police from Lotus, it looks more than awesome, although the Officer I was chatting to did not fancy his chances of keeping it in one piece over the 12 week trial period!
