Cactus Kid

Cactus Kid This one is quite good fun. If done a little too often before to be wholly original. What do you think of UGC? Is it working?

Are leaves and animals over?

Saturday, October 18th, 2008

At one of our design agencies this week. We were speaking about the leaves, animal and swirl look of the last 36 months. This was cool. Now it is looking over used. Camper, is a fairly cool brand, so can probably pull it off. However, the more lower end high street chains ...

Saatchi woz ´ere

This campaign is simple and thought provoking. Not given its due by the marketing media. Being somewhat of a historian, this visual got me thinking. To the extent that when I met a director of the London Transport Museum, one of my first questions was, if this was a real ticket. Perhaps ...

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Being a certain age. When I see these vans on my travels, I can only think of one thing. Like the picturesque town of Hungerford, the power of the 1980s news media has etched in my mind one terrible incident. I know this is my job, but what can a brand ...

Keeping up to Date

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

A City bank and sponsor is still running this old footage of Australian Formula One driver, Mark Webber. He now looks older and drives for Red Bull, a different team to that featured in the (slightly naff) showreel. How does this reflect on the sponsor? Do they look out of date ...

Right to Protest

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

This recent demonstration outside the IoD at 116 Pall Mall in London, got noticed. A small turnout and convoluted argument, was given validity by the arrival of the Police. I certainly read the protester's handout.
