Phillips is one of the older London auction houses.

Now Phillips, de Pury & Company; the last few years have been a little chequered. A recent move to Victoria and initiatives like Saturday @ Phillips, with cappucinos and music, are seeing a firm orientation and a younger crowd.

The brand has been brave to push its natural boundaries. The results could help keep Phillips in business for another 200 years.

Despite the glitzy high roller image of the premium auction houses, they must hit sales. Like Starbucks, they are in business and need to make it work. Surviving for over 200 years, while no guarantee of future success, shows the firm has been able to flex, change and survive.
